DRENGLISH 101 - TEST 1 RESULTS
Thank you all for participating in the first Drenglish 101 test! (and no the number 1 is not a guarantee that I will make more of these lmao)
I am happy to say all 436 students passed! As we’ve discussed during the first class - in Drenglish there are no right and wrong answers, only questionable choices! And yes, I had to pick the correct answers, but in the end what mattered was you thinking about it and considering your options.
Now, let’s go over some statistics!
First of all - basic stats!
The average score was 8.72 out of 10 points, which is more than 137 people got overall.
The lowest score achieved was 2 and the highest - 10.
The most common score was 9 points, with 154 people.
145 people got 10/10! :D
And now let’s get to the questions.
Question 1 - What does 'drodcast' mean?
A pretty easy question, considering drodcast is perhaps the most widely known and used Drenglish word. Still, some people struggled to answer. I think it would be pretty funny to call any and all audio-only Dream content drodcasts (less words to remember), but then we would immediately have the problem of ‘where can i listen?! twitter?! twitch?! discord?!’, so I say we stay with the highlighted answer.
Question 2 - What does 'drace' mean?
Tricky question! If someone was speedrunning, it’s no wonder they’ve picked the wrong answer - drace is most commonly used to refer to Dream’s Twitter spaces after all. But thanks to the new wave of Drenglicists, the translation of ‘Dream’s face’ has been accepted by the community as well, so that’s what I expected you to choose.
It was also the question with the least amount of correct answers out of the whole test. I guess we will need to redo the lesson about multiple ways of translating the same word in the near future.
Question 3 - What does 'drideo' mean?
One of the easiest questions for you all - I guess with how often we’ve all used it over the past few days, it’s no wonder almost no one had trouble with the translation of ‘drideo’.
A video with Dream’s name in the title should have its own name in my opinion. Well. To be fair, ‘clickbait’ is a word already.
Question 4 - What does 'drand' mean?
Drand, The Hand, please-i-want-to-see-it-more. All words and phrases describing one - Dream’s hand. Not that long ago the only part of him we have seen actually move.
And also the question with the highest amount of correct answers! Congratulations!
Now the question is - were the other answers not believable or did you guys just really focus on the drand during the class?
Question 5 - What does 'Dream' mean?
One of the more controversial questions, even though the statistics don’t show it. Because how can one limit the meaning of ‘Dream’ to just one definition? That’s why I chose to show you how many aspects can one Drenglish word have. Especially one as core to the language as Dream.
Question 6 - Keyboard
The second part of the test consisted of translating English words to Drenglish.
And what better question to start with than the one that gave everyone the most trouble (in this part of the test). Keyboard. Dreyboard.
Some people questioned my translation in this case and to this I say - remember that Drenglish has no wrong translations. You make a word and, if you are able to use it and understand it, it’s correct. That’s why in this test dreyboard was the correct answer. It holds the same vibe, the same melody that keyboard does.
Question 7 - Art
This question gave almost no one trouble. Art = Drart. Easy translation, based on the first rule of Drenglish - add ‘dr’ at the beginning and see what happens.
I think we should start referring to that one drawing Dream made as drart. It is art. And it was made by Dream. Therefore it’s drart.
Question 8 - Candle
This question was pretty tricky - it was easy to not notice the vowel and chose the wrong answer by mistake. Fortunately most of you managed to find the ‘correct’ translation.
Question 9 - Puzzle
Another question with basic rules of translation, but this time featuring some subtraction as well. Most of you had no problems with answering.
It is worth noting that ‘Drizzle’ is also a Drenglish word for Dream. It was coined by Illumina and is an affectionate nickname for his friend, born during the speedrunning drama.
Question 10 - Lore
Another question where a few people had some complaints. Again - you have to remember Drenglish is a fluid language. Words change, as do spellings. These spellings were inspired by my pronunciation.
Nevertheless, most people answered correctly.
And that’s it! The first Drenglish 101 test is over! Thank you all for taking part once again. Hope you learned something and will learn from your mistakes. If you have any questions regarding your marks - please reach out to me.

I cant see shit when I take pictures facing the sun, its a miracle theyre often in focus
Had another late rise today. I hope I find the strength to wake up at 11am again soon. Today was good because I was not at jury duty. Thats all I can really ask for
I'm gonna start trying to learn one kanji a day on top of practicing my kana and numbers, and first one I picked is probably more complicated than I should have chosen, but I have a history with chinese characters so the complexity of the particular kanji isnt really a concern for me
Today I went with 願 (ねが ne ga), because I was going through my lessons again and like the first thing they teach you is introduce yourself! Say "onegaishimasu" and then I look up to read the kana and it says お願いします, and I'm like come on bro. So I learned that one. Maybe thats how I'll choose, I'll just go by whatever pops up next in my lessons lol. Its 19 strokes but I sat there and did it over and over for like 10 minutes and I think i got it. I actually like learning stroke order and stuff. I always preferred writing chinese over speaking it
I really need to get back to streaming, which i say all the time, but speedrunning and goofy challenge runs would be good for streams. Im trying to beat Onimusha without upgrading weapons or using healing items right now. The trick with that is if you kill enemies with an issen strike they always drop health souls, but issen are very hard to pull off. It forces you to really learn every enemies attack animations well, which is something I love doing
A big point of contention with me and my friends rn is they dont get how I can just sit and play Monster Hunter for multiple hours at a time. My brother has admitted many times now thay he is never paying attention when we play, he just auto pilots fights because he doesnt find enjoyment in fighting them once hes basically seen everything they can do. But like thats the fun, is learning how kill things faster and more efficiently. I can play for hours on end because its fun to react to something a monster did and cause it to fall out of the air mid jump because you knew your weapons hitboxes well enough to hit it backwards while it was above you. And then he points out thats the fun of fighting games and asks why i dont wanna play those anymore, and I'm like because I fucking hate other humans and the way their minds work lol. I want to abuse a poor helpless CPU player that cant even stand on two legs. The lizard men in Onimusha raise their little cleaver and I go haha idiot, and I instant kill their ass. Thats what sparks joy for me. Thats also why I've been playing games alone for two months I guess hehe
Anyways, thats not really me complaining exactly, I'm trying to be aware of my negativity you see, thats all to say that I love the slop Capcom puts in my trough. It's good slop. I'm also so fucking excited for Splatoon 3 Side Order (i guess) but more importantly HYDLIDE 3 COMES OUT TODAY YAHOOOO
Heres my kanji for today cuz the night sky hasnt been very photogenic around here. With and without guides
Live Long and Prosper

As a f2p I've been able to get a sizeable amount of cards on both servers through grinding alone without spending a penny. Here's some ways you can grind for gems:
Take advantage of timely free lessons, I know everyone's busy but if you're the type to forget things once they're out of sight like me, set a timer/alarm. I believe it resets every 2 and a half hours. I can't stress enough how useful this is, especially when notifications aren't reliable. You get gems for certain number of lessons hit and these are reliant on accumulative effort. Try to even out the types of lessons, I'm not going to get into details since that's too many words but each type of lesson have their own rewards for amount done so don't just focus on history lessons
Max out as many vignette levels as you can, make sure you don't max out event cards until the event is over if you want gems immediately. You can't read event vignettes until the event is over. Each vignette you read gives 5 gems, 60 vignettes = 300 gems = a 10 pull Please note that you don't need to max out R cards to lvl 2, only lvl 1 is necessary to unlock a vignette. SSR cards have 3, SR cards have 2, and R cards only have 1
Progress as much as you can in the main story, this tip is only really useful if you're not on Book 6/7 since those are more difficult and hard to speedrun if your cards are not up to level. Other then that, if you haven't touched the main story since the tutorial, speedrunning through the books give a lot of gems
Even out your exam battles, you get 10 gems for every certain amount of exams done per element. Best way to do this is alternate between the two currently available exams every day.
This one is kind of obvious, try to log in every day, one is you get daily log in rewards, which on some days give 20 gems just for logging in, two is you get a gacha key for cumulative login
Run through your twistunes, if you've done all the 10 tasks, just keep replaying them. This one takes patience but you get 10 gems for every hundred twistunes done. Personally I only do this if I'm desperate and I've done everything else since this takes absolutely ages.
Groovy cards if you can, this links to the vignette tip but once you've maxed out vignette, you don't have to groovy but you can if you want to and have enough groovy candy since you get gems for cumulative groovy
Of course, everything I've mentioned above is cumulative effort, at max you get probably 50 gems a day if you get everything done but a little everyday goes a long way when it comes to gems. Please remember that it's ok if you don't get the card you want, the world isn't gonna end and life will carry on, they do rerun some gachas and events so you might be able to get it next time.
The silly fictional blorbos you're attached to isn't worth costing real lives.
I hope you all know that twisted wonderland is in fact, disney owned and yall should not be spending money on it rn

does using a blogging site for #pastebinmonday defeat the purpose? who cares
speedrun PBs:
overall this has been a great year for me. i didn't meet all the goals i set at the start of the year, but some of them i became less invested in while developing others.
i achieved top 300 in super mario kart, which is a big deal for me considering the level of competition in that game developed over 19 years. pretty proud of that, and i know i have so much more potential to climb.
i'm pretty happy i got a bunch of people to run crystal caves for a while. i talk a lot of shit about my runs but my WR is actually not that bad. i think with the route i'm using i can save half a minute at most. i'll get it soon.
i got a time i'm somewhat happy with in smrpg any% and took a hiatus from that category. i started running smrpg most of the stuff and it quickly became bar none my favourite thing to speedrun. i almost have my time under 4 and a half hours, currently sitting at 4:31:56. that's wild considering how good i thought my 4:47 was, lol. i'm having so much fun improving my times and finding time saves and helping flesh out the route and all that. i also had fun routing Beat Culex and am going to return to working on that category soon. think it'll always be my favourite game.
dkc2 is hard but i'm enjoying learning it.
i'm very happy with my mario land 2 time. submitting to agdq for the first time and not seeing a wall of red was neat even if it is a lottery. i was only a backup runner but i know that my time being decent allowed for that. i'll grind this game again soon.
i dunno if im gonna return to EB pajama. i really liked the all sanctuaries routing, and it's obsolete now. we'll see.
current plans:
i haven't streamed much this week because i'm having capture card issues =( so instead i've been doing the following:
-uninstalling drivers from device manager and reinstalling over and over
-trying old drivers
-attempting to test in amarec, which crashes, bc the native software also crashes
-testing from usb ubuntu, which wouldn't load and started hanging when i tried to manually run casper
-testing from usb linux mint which worked, but i don't wanna change OSes
-forcefully installing an obsolete windows 7 update to bypass a sha256 error
-bricking my OS with the above step, unable to boot to command line or use system restore from repair disc
-taking the drive out of my laptop and using an old win7 install on a 3rd hard drive to copy my files on the dead drive to an empty partition on the laptop drive
-the copy operation froze up so i made a backup instead
-was able to unbrick my OS after all and deleted the backup
-deleting the empty partition and attempted to fresh install windows 7 on it
-turns out my optical drive isnt reading discs at all which explains why i couldnt run startup repair
-made a boot usb of windows 7
-saved an image of my OS to the empty partition
-reinstalled windows 7 on my drive
-swapped the pcie slots of my cap card and usb card
-tried very old drivers to flash the card which also hung when i let it run overnight
-card somehow flashed itself successfully after i uninstalled the drivers
-upgrading to windows 10 which i left running while i go to work
so yeah... this is an adventure lol. as soon as i can restore my OS i'll get back to streaming, speedrun calendar coding, and drawing your emotes
luckily there's plenty of stuff i can stream that doesn't need a capture card! until i can get game capture working again, i will likely be streaming the following:
-return to the Crystal Caves 1 any% grind! my standing WR has about 30 seconds of mistakes in it. would like to get that 22.
-maybe i'll pick up CC1 any% cheat codes... /maybe/
-got lots of smrpg science to do. i'm planning on documenting every timed hit in the game. i might stream this casually
-speaking of smrpg science, i'm planning on rerouting the Beat Culex category to skip pandorite, i might stream that too since i can do it mostly with web tools
offline i'll practice dkc2 and mario kart.
other speedrun stuff:
rpg limit break 2017 was a huge turning point in my "career". i'm very grateful i had that opportunity and did a good enough job with it. to this day i still have ppl contacting me on twitter to say how much they enjoyed my run. that's cool. i will be submitting smrpg most of the stuff to 2018.
doing a billion marathons was great. i love to entertain, i love to perform, despite being mildly antisocial irl lol. got to meet a lot of amazing people that way and have no regrets.
thank you everyone for the support this year, it makes it a lot more fun. it's still wild to me that ppl actively wanna watch me play video games
i don't know what marathons i'll be going to next year.
smash stuff:
i miss you guys so much you have no idea
good personal stuff:
holy crap guys i got really thin, im not sure if 160lbs is a good goal anymore. if i see my ribcage protrude too much more i'll stop lol
i'm still reeling from friday. if you don't know what happened friday, read this thread: https://twitter.com/pidgezero_one/status/941905358259408897 i love my friends so much and i'm very very lucky to have you guys in my life... i dont even have the words for what i was feeling during and after that
in case it wasn't obvious enough from that thread and also this https://twitter.com/pidgezero_one/status/942742039158018048, grats to everyone who suspected that i'm in love with mishrak! unfortunately i dont have a prize 4 u. but this is definitely why i've been in higher spirits lately, lol
is it too soon to fall for somebody again after my last relationship only ended 3 months ago? idk. you can't really control at what time someone amazing shows up in your life and steals your heart. but that's why the option of taking things slow is there. anyway he's great and i'm really really happy. this is also why idk what marathons i'll be going to in 2018 yet :)
selling all that stuff helped me a ton financially. debt escape will be soon hopefully.
im gonna start resuming language lessons soon. time to stop being lazy.
i put a bag of frozen shrimp and a canister of lawrys salt in my lunchbox today rofl
bad personal stuff:
i'm still hurting over losing my best friend. it's been almost 5 months now. i miss him so much every day. i never got any closure or real understanding, so i'm doing everything i have to do to not let it consume me anymore. this means i've left some of your discords and i'm sorry about that. i just wanted my life back and to not be overwhelmed with anxiety all the time. but i'm trying harder to just focus on the friends i have who never left my side and make me feel cared about and made me keep my head above water when i wanted to sink. thank you and i'm sorry i was absent and unreliable for a long time. i feel like i took the people who care about me for granted and i'm just trying to do better.

there’s a lot of things about me that are fucking absurd and really cool, so when ppl ask me to tell them about myself, i break em out immediately (”my family heirloom is a severed head named oswald,” “I can see disney studios from my house,” etc)
but just bc im bored and I feel like it, here’s some stuff about me that I dont think I’ve ever really talked about? not secrets, but just...mundane things that I don’t really ever say in favor of Ice Breaker™-type things
I have a profound respect for mail services. When I was 7-8 years old, we watched a documentary in class about how the postal system works, its history, and about the various jobs involved. It was an extremely formative experience for me. I don’t send a lot of things over snailmail and so I’m not really sure how to express my respect and support but it’s definitely there. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to play the FallOut game where you’re a mail carrier, but I wanna... I wanna.
Though I’ll claim to the ends of the earth that sports confuse me, I am a huge speed-running enthusiast. One hobby/interest/self-esteem exercise I have is that I really like to learn jargon/lingo involved with...anything, really. So I started watching speedruns to pick up the lingo and I just...became infatuated. I’m no expert but I’m %100 into it for more than the lingo at this point; I’ve long since got that covered. One of my favorite parts is golf-clapping along with other fans when something cool/impressive happens.
I can’t sleep without a hat on. A beanie, specifically. When I was, like...5 or something, I was terrified of vampires, and for some reason I thought vampires bit the skull and not the neck. So I pulled my blankets up over my head at night. My parents thought this was dangerous (I might suffocate) so they gave me a hat to protect myself with. I’ve long since outgrown my fear of vampires (and learnt that they don’t typically bite skulls) but I’ve associated hats with nighttime safety for so long that I can’t fall asleep without one. In the event that I don’t have one, I can wear underwear on my head to suffice...and I think I wore a stuffed animal once somehow but idk.
I’ve had my SPiN in genetics for so long that 5-year-old me used to infodump strangers at the grocery store. When I asked where babies come from, my dad got me a picture book written for kids specifically to answer that question. We still have it; my brothers used it, too. It starts by explaining pollination and then extends the same concepts to dogs and then humans. Most of the information is on pregnancy and fetuses rather than sex, and cell development immediately caught my fascination. I asked my parents for more information about this and they gave me some more microbiology stuff. Combine that with my animal obsession + budding interest in heredity and you’ve got a tiny obnoxious geneticist who wouldn’t stop telling random people in line at the grocery store about how chromosomes are passed on through haploid cells. Dad got real smug about it, it was fantastic.
On a similar note (and I have no memory of how this actually happened), I more or less learnt to read spontaneously? All at once? Again, I have no clear memory of this until the part where I can read... My parents read to me every night but I never was able to do it myself. I had a huge library built into the wall at perfect me-height for reading. One morning, the summer I turned 5, I (according to legend) walked up to my parents, got their attention, said “I’m going to read now,” and then (this part I do remember) sat down and read every single book in that library over the course of two or three days. Super rough estimate, but it was somewhere between 70-200 books, with a variety of target ages ranging from 3 to 10-11. No chapter books, all pictures, but the second I was finished I wanted more books. My mom took me to the store to buy more and insisted I get a chapter book since I’d burnt through the picture books so fast. And that’s where I got my first Warriors book.
That was not the last time I read an entire library. In 7th grade, a friend of mine and I both had sex ed previously and so were allowed to skip that year’s sex ed on the condition that we spent that class in the school library. And together, we read the entire thing. Only what was on the shelves, though; nothing in the back. Actually, at one point on the last day, we’d already read every book in the place and we were bored, so we pulled some books out of the back to look at and none of them caught our interest. One of them was the first Hunger Games book WAY before it got popular. We’d never heard of it, both read the first 2 pages, didn’t like it at all, and put it back. You should’ve seen our faces when it suddenly blew up into a huge thing. The sad thing is, I remember a lot of books that I enjoyed but can’t find now because I can’t remember any specific titles or characters. We sped through everything to finish it all and didn’t really take a lot of time to absorb details so a lot of them are lost to the vague, hazy back of my memory. Still looking for that manga where the ninja kid...stops an evil scientist from...some kind of virtual world machine. There’s a piranha tank? And then the bad guy...gets sniped by a helicopter and falls off the roof, or something? Also there was a manga version of Maximum Ride, which I only remember by name because 2 chapters in it suddenly hit me that this was a comic version of a text-novel my mom was reading at the same time. I bought a handful of books from that library at the end of the year and still have them.
I’ve only been in one play but something fucking sweet happened during production. I was Malvolio in Twelfth Night because, and I quote my drama teacher (who had known me for 8-ish years at that point and also who was smirking her ass off when she said this), “You’ll see why when you read the play.” She was not wrong and to this day that smug fuckin grin gives me life. Anyway, I was Malvolio, and you know that “Some have greatness thrust upon them” speech that everyone’s so inspired by? That speech is a fucking prank pulled on this asshole and it’s about bangin’. So the scene is that I dramatically read this “””love letter””” I’ve received and then run off to go embarrass myself. The speech is LONG and so I asked if I can just...actually have it written on the letter. And she said yes! So I wrote it down with intent of reading it off the letter. But opening night, the actress who was to place the letter grabbed the wrong paper and so I got just a blank sheet. Guess fucking what? We’d re-choreographed that scene so many times the night before that I slammed that shit anyway, word-for-fucking-word. And I was never mad at my friend for grabbing the wrong paper, so I say this in jest, but her punishment for grabbing the wrong paper is that the entire cast/production team did not hear the end of my pride for the entire week. For a timeframe reference, I was 12.
When I was a kid I had a horse named Emmy. She was a rental horse. Actually, I think she was a pony? The way the rental worked was that she lived in a barn with a bunch of other horses. Her owners were a small business who gave riding lessons, but instead of just riding each session, one of the horses was “yours” (assigned by age, height, and temperament, not picked by the kid) to take care of while you were there and ride consistently every session. Essentially, she was only my pet when I was on the property. I can still ride but I’ve gotten rusty and I can’t do anything above a trot for more than a few seconds. Both times I’ve jumped have been accidents, once on Emmy and once on mom’s current horse, Meteor. I’ve fallen only once, and it was off Emmy. Mom’s going to be getting a gigantic thoroughbred soon and I’m both terrified and excited to ride this very large boy.
I talk about this in person but not online because...why would it ever come up online?? I have worn the same style of red jacket every single time I leave the house since I was a pre-teen. It’s to the point where people will only recognize me if I’m wearing it. I had a friend in high school who was/is a really cool guy, we were seniors and we’d been close friends since freshman year. I had my jacket tied around my waist because of the heat. The school had two campuses a block apart and I was walking from one to the other to get something. Friend was walking from the other to the one, so we passed each other. Wordlessly. No wave, nothing. I was tired, it was hot, I didn’t really think anything of it. Then suddenly, a foot behind me, he freezes dead in his tracks and says my name with some kind of stricken shock. He had no idea it was me. At all. Keep in mind: my jacket? Tied around my waist. Not even off, just around my waist. Since then I’ve used this jacket thing to my advantage. Sparingly, I can take it off to sneak around. It’s like I’m invisible to people I know unless I say something and they hear my voice. It’s incredible.
Going back to speed running, way before I knew that it was a thing at all, I taught myself to speedrun two games: The Lion King (PS2, not the impossibly hard one) and Putt Putt Saves The Zoo. As they were unofficial speedruns that I didn’t really call anything and just kinda did when I was bored, I never timed the latter, and I only timed the former once using my mom’s kitchen timer. It was a rough estimate since sometimes I paused and forgot to hit play for a few seconds, or I needed to pause but didn’t for a few seconds, and the timer only counted full minutes anyway, but I still remember the time: 35 minutes. I keep meaning to go back and re-teach myself to speedrun it, perhaps more professionally, and time it with more accuracy. I still remember all the strats but I can’t pull them off with as much fluidity as I could when I was still in practice. I also can, when watching both Lion King 1 and 2, still point out with frame-perfect accuracy exactly when a scene starts that was a cutscene in that game.
wow writing this was fun and I kinda wanna do it again. ok
